Teens Graffiti/Mural Project
We are at week three of our project.. the teens worked for two weeks coming up with ideas for their tags and i also asked them to create a character of themselves.I supplied them with paper and stuck it to the wall to give them an idea of the scale they will be using.( 5ftx11ft) They really enjoyed working to this scale and they also appreciated the freedom they were given as i kept stating that this is their project and can represent it or themselves in any form they wish. As this is a community arts project i thought it would be a good idea to have a community friendly theme.They all wanted to represent themselves and their community in a Fairytale theme. I supplied them with lots of books and images of Graffiti artists to use as examples and encourage ideas. one member of the group is a regular to the graffiti scene and has got warnings from the Law, I am encouraging art by permission.
