Performance and installtion
Description
For the open day we set up the train lines in the hall with the sound boxes representing the stations and the three colours of wool representing the three train lines. I hung a huge sheet of paper in the corner of the room for video projection and the paintings hung in a large square in the middle of one of the walls. The children performed their sequences to the chimes sound tracks with a moving projected image of the mapped train lines running in the background. They performed three times in the afternoon for the different classes and teachers from the school who came to watch. After each performance we played a short video piece through the projector. This was a video I made using images of the children performing their sequences individually and in small groups in front of a projection of their corresponding mapped journey running on google earth. Two of the children had prepared an introduction which allowed an insight for the audiences into the processes behind the work. The children performed with great concentration and were delighted with themselves and all the positive feedback from the audiences.
