The TRAS network

Train Routes Around Sligo is a new local train network for the Sligo Leitrim Area incorporating the currently disused lines from Enniskillen and Charlestown and the current line from Dublin. It is a local network with regular trains running from Carrick, Charlestown and Belcoo/Blacklion to Sligo. The network model was built by identifying disused lines in Google Earth, laying new track and building new stations.

The network has been used as a score for quarter-tone tubular bells. Drivers have followed the left - right - centre direction of each line to perform a journey-specific melodic line. Each journey was recorded by a sound engineer and programmed by a tech.
Final journeys recorded in todays final recording session will complete our TRAS network which will be installed in the school hall using an array of 16 CD players.
