Description
Map of Killeely-Thomondgate-The Kings Island-The Island Field and Stamping ground of the Sodacakes.
Killeely House is to the left of the top bend of the S of the river Shannon, here is our base and home of the Northside DigiHub. The small river is the Abbey. In the middle is Kings island.
The bridge that crosses the middle of the S is Thomond bridge.
The name Luimneach dates from at least 561, and probably derives from Loimeanach, meaning a bare marsh, or the spot made bare by feeding horses.
