DREAMTRAIN: (produced with the support of the smallsize European network seed fund grant)


The song Morningtown ride provides the backdrop to the story of the dreamtrain... where do we go when we dream? Who can we help when we get there? How do we get back? The performance is enhanced by an art activity which provides the outline of a blank suitcase to the children and their carers. This poses the question - what do you put in your suitcase when you travel? This normally stimulates a moment of conversation between the children and the carers present which is invaluable. One of the most memorable comments I heard from a four year old in Cairo was that his train was going to Syria to fix it and he had peace in his suitcase.
