Day 8 puppet portal phase 2
today we went to the artic and found it was warmer then here :) . There was a very big group with 8 children aging from 5 to 11. A real mix of girls and boys. We made the puppets out of paper and tape but they where not as stable as usual. i think it was the teacher pupil ratio as the puppets i made with 2 boys in the afternoon where a lot stronger.
While we where making one boy entertained us all by telling us what fun he has with his baboon who lives in his garden. wish i could of got that on tape.
We made penguins, polar bears, wolves,dogs and a horse. After that we went and worked on the table drawing igloos, eskimos, penguins and whales.
We played on the table, and told jokes.
The puppets where not very strond and some of them got left behind, at least they will get the dvd as a memento.
In the afternoon i worked in one of the isolation rooms with a boy and his brother. They where both obsessed by horses and we made two . The 8 year olds was covered in paint, the 12 year olds was very specificaly decorated its very interesting seeing the way different aged children go about making things. They made too lovely horses and i left them playing in his room with them. There was big competition as to whos horse was the best.
Next week we are going to lapland to see who we can find.
