DLR Artists Regional Group Meeting number 1

 Meeting number 1 Grainstore 24th April 10am-1130am



Who Attended? Julie Merriman, Lucinda Jacob,Caroline Lynch


Liz McMahon, Claire Halpin,  Maree Hensey. Apologies from Maire Brett and Terry O`Farrell.


We started our first meeting with a cup of tea,Lucindas biscuits and a discussion about Practice, the site and how as group we will use it to communicate what and who we are.So we have all vowed to familiarize ourselves with the in and outs of the site.We will be practice.ie whizzes!


 We asked the question `What are we doing here?` Each of us had a chance to reply to this... This brought up some interesting responses,


Working with children is one element of my practice...


Its something I have been meaning to do.


I want to set myself some time to this, to see whats happening out there.


I want to look outwards.


I want to share ideas and skills/techniques, raise issues


Advocacy/Support


 I often find I work in isolation



How do we move forward as a team/group?

It was decided that we should get to know each other.. So for the next meeting each of us will prepare a 10min presentation to share our experiences of Creativity in the Classroom 2010. How we delivered the sessions. What were some of the issues?. Claire will bring laptop.We will upload these presentations on to project site once we get clearance from Maire about use of photographs/video.

 

Each meeting there will be a different chairperson

 

We have all agreed that none of us are experts! This will be a learning experience for all of us.

 

At each meeting there will be an agony aunt session for anyone in the group that needs to vent or needs support on a particular issue.

 

We realize as a group it will take time to evolve into being regional.

 

I think that covers most of it. Our next meeting Sat May 29th 10-1130 at the Grainstore  to be chaired by Liz.
