Day 20 on the puppet portal
The last day on the puppet portal, we made baby turtles in expectance of the turning turtles show. Orla came down and made puppets and video ed the making. We started with two children but in the end we had seven. After we had made the turtles the children made one of the tables into turtle island, they drew pam trees, sand and other island creatures.
Which became the set for the puppets from turning turtles that came in to see the children. The children that i had worked with in the afternoon over the last 20 weeks came into watch the show.It was the first time the puppets had performed and they got a warm reseption.
In the afternoon i went out onto the ward and worked with a little boy who was obsessed with transformers and so between us we tried to figure out with what we had how to make one, and i think he did a great job, see transformer picture.
The staff surprised me with cake and tea and one of the girls ive made lots of puppets with made me a card that everyone signed. A lovely way to finish a great project thank you to the staff and children of the ark, helene,anna and siobhan,Ann and all at practice and kids own and everyone involved with the project it was fantastic experience which i hope will happen again
