Day 12: Image and text - Sailing down the river
Description
Our theme today was traveling by boat, as defined by the video link room wallpaper on Ait Eile, which was beautifully drawn by Anna.
I have just read Anna`s blog from last week, and realised now that we had similar interpretations. The children all imagined a long river, and drew different sections of the river, as if a boat were traveling threw and past the various environments on the way. Each drawing was taped together to make one long cartoon strip, which we passed through two slits at the back of a cardboard box. A small boat was hung from the top of the box. The children took turns describing the journey, as another child pulled the backdrop behind the boat, giving the effect of the boat traveling along the river.
