Project Outline
’Heron’ is a collaborative project between 6th class children at Bandon Presentation Primary School, Cork, artist Marie Brett and craftsperson Gana Roberts, as part of the West Cork ’Fun with Glass’ arts & education programme.
The Fun with Glass programme sees artist Marie Brett & craftsperson Gana Roberts work with staff & children in West Cork primary level schools, supported by Cork County Council Arts Office and The West Cork Education Centre.
The West Cork Arts Centre have a mentoring programme in place where Marie Brett is mentor to selected artists alongside the Fun with Glass projects. By the close of 2012 there will have been 5 mentoring slots, each comprising of 5 days per artist.
The Heron project has Marika O’Sullivan as the selected mentee for Sept/Oct 2012.
