West Cork Arts Centre - Choowawaah Residency

West Cork Arts Centre invited me to undertake a week long residency at their annual Childrens Festival, Choowawaah.

The festival is running at the centre from March 28th to April 15th. During this time, the gallery is housing an exhibition by Primary School pupils inspired by the exhibition of selected works from University College Cork 's Collection exhibited at West Cork Arts Centre in September / October 2008 and entitled 'My Space and I'.

Justine Foster, Education and Community Programme Coordinator invited me to participate based on the work I had undertaken at The Ark Cultural Centre for Children in 2007 and my current residency in Cairns NS, Sligo because similar themes run through both.

I spent one week at the centre creating a studio space to work in, giving talks to the children who had work on display in the galleries, giving workshops and reflecting on and displaying work.
