KOZO ART SUMMER CAMPS for children (5 - 12 years of age)

Kozo Studio and Gallery continue their popular Art Summer Camp Programme - now in it's 4th year! - with new courses this Summer in the new building of St. Mary's National School, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.

Their primarily focus is on offering an exciting experience of creative, artistic processes in a fun filled, safe and non-competitive environment. As well as teaching new skills and providing a very enjoyable activity these workshops also focus on the expression of individual ideas, building self confidence while encouraging communication and self reflection through an ongoing discussion of works, processes and ideas.
Participating children will create their own unique art works – sculptural pieces, paintings and drawings, prints, musical instruments, textile and fibre art works, mosaics, handmade papers etc. - using a variety of natural, recycled and re-used materials combined with a wide selection of water based paints, dyes, inks, pastels...etc.
All courses are designed and will be held for small groups (15 children per class) – facilitated by professional, experienced artists and art educators.

8th - 9th - 10th July (Wed, Thurs, Fri) 10am – 1pm
“Tulani and the Dragon” - Music – Storytelling – Musical Instrument Making – Painting and Drawing for 5 – 7 year olds

8th - 9th - 10th July (Wed, Thurs, Fri) 2.30 – 6pm
“Lion on the Road"
Storytelling – Story dramatization – Musical Instrument Making for 8 – 10 year olds
Also includes various techniques of drawing and printmaking (monoprints)

13th - 14th - 15th July (Mon, Tues, Wed) 9.30am – 1pm
Textile and Fibre Art Camp – from 7 years of age
- textile arts, sculptural pieces from plaster cloth, fabric and fibre, hand papermaking, T-shirt printing -

Sculpture and Mosaic projects - using ceramic tiles, glass beads, recycled materials and plaster cloth on wire structures – for 8 – 12 year olds
