Professional Development Opportunity for Artists with Collaborative Practice
Thursday 30 January and 6, 13, 20 February from 1.00pm – 2.30pm each day
An opportunity for artists to network and engage in critical dialogue with exhibiting artist, Ann Henderson. Ann lives and works on Rathlin Island, off the north coast of Ireland. Through a series of four sessions, Ann will consider how working virtually has influenced her practice as an artist. Through a participatory and discursive series of sessions Ann will lead an exploration into collaborative activity using virtual technology. An introduction to these sessions will take place during the Day for Artists on 18 January (see above). It is advised that artists attending these workshops also attend this day. €20 registration fee, 10 places available only, booking essential.
Live Studio Investigations
Wednesdays 22 January, 5 and 19 February from 11.30am – 1.00pm each day and Saturdays 1 and 15 February from 1.30pm – 3.00pm each day.
As part of Ann Henderson’s contribution to the exhibition, the artist will be continuing her investigations at her studio based on Rathlin Island. During these 5 designated periods, live footage will be projected in the gallery, giving visitors to the gallery the opportunity to see the artist at work and to follow her processes and lines of enquiry in real time. Ann will take sequences of still images during these periods and these will be projected in the venue while she is not online. Free, no booking required
Shared Investigations
Wednesdays 22 January, 5 and 19 February from 2.30pm – 4.00pm each day and Saturdays 1 and 15 February from 11.00am – 12.30pm each day.
During these designated times, Ann Henderson will continue her live studio investigations from Rathlin Island, and will be open to engaging with members of the public in the gallery in shared investigation via remote communication. Visitors to the gallery at those times will be encouraged to interact with the artist and her investigations and processes using the technology provided. This will be a direct extension of the studio investigations but will be collaborative in nature. Free, no booking required
