Kildare Youth Hub - Developing an artistic vision
In 2013, a dedicated youth space will open in Kildare town. The building, a 2000 square metre former school building, is being developed as a County Youth Hub. Partners involved in the project include local community groups. Foroige, HSE, Kildare Youth Service, Noname club, Gardai, Youth Work Ireland, NUIM, Catholic Youth Care and Kildare local authorites.
Kildare Assistant County Arts Officer, Eoghan Doyle, will make a presentation on the work that has gone on to date in developing the space and also outline Kildare Arts Service’s plans for youth arts activtivies / workshops and longer term programmes in 2013 and beyond.
Current facilities include, an arts room, AV theatre, large school hall, 2 science labs, and 14 classrooms. It is envisaged that the hub will also house a recording studio, dance studio and youth café. In 2013, Kildare Arts Service will also be looking for presentations / workshops opportunities from artists working with children and young people that could take place in the hub. This presentation will be a great opportunity for artists to gain an insight into this new exciting space for young people.
