Open Call for Submissions: Skibbereen Arts Festival 2012
The Pop-Up Museum of Miniature
Skibbereen Arts Festival is calling for submissions for the wonderous Museum of Miniature.
In this ‘For One Week Only’ Pop-Up Museum, the only criteria is that your artwork must fit into the palm of your hand! Showcasing hundreds of tiny works of art, the museum will take place in an old disused building in Skibbereen town for the duration of the festival, from Saturday 28th July to the 4th August. Inspiration has been drawn from artists Slinkachu and Issac Cordal who create tiny dioramas in cities all over the world, micro-miniaturist Hagop Sandaljian whose ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ fits on to the eye of a needle to the stories of the Borrowers, Gulliver’s Travels, Alice in Wonderland, model railways and dollhouses. Everything is considered and anything is possible!
The Museum of Miniature is the creative initiative of artists Tess Leak and Marie Brett.
