Sticky Fingers Early Years Arts in association with Newry and Mourne District Council are looking for four experienced artists of differing disciplines to work with primary school children on an integrated public art commission for Hill Street, Newry. Each artist will be required to deliver a series of child-centred workshops, with the themes of the final artworks to be influenced by the children’s imagination. It is envisaged that these workshops will be used as a research period for each artist to develop their element of the final work.
The resultant projects will be four public installations in four sites along Hill Street. The works must be finished to a high standard and should combine the children’s work with that of the artist.
The artists must be free in February, March and April 2012 and have proven experience in producing mid- to large-scale public art projects and have an interest in working creatively and collaboratively with you children.
A full artist brief can be downloaded here.
The deadline for all applications is January 16th, 2012. No late applications will be considered.
