We are delighted to welcome Shane Finan onto the Practice.ie team. As Practice.ie Community Manager, Shane will be supporting and liaising with members of the Practice.ie community, devising programmes to build and develop a stronger network and identifying issues and challenges that members are facing within the sector.
Shane is a Sligo-based artist, musician, coordinator and event organiser. He graduated from Sligo I.T. with a degree in Fine art in 2008. Since then he has worked as a visual artist, showing nationally and internationally. He has curated group shows across Ireland and abroad, and was involved in the establishment of gallery spaces in the Sligo region, including the ArtMart Studios and Gallery. He has co-ordinated several art groups, including SLAM (Sligo Local Artists Movement), Push Remote, an art group supporting emerging artists and Stranded Art, an international art group founded in 2011. He ran the ArtCrawl 09 show in Sligo, and Tiltshift, an annual season of music events in Sligo in 2010 and 2011.
