I trained as a puppeteer in Bochum, Germany before I founded my own company PAPILIO, now based in Northwicklow.
I am interested in creating opportunities to bring together the separate strands of my work in puppetry, theatre and participatory arts, in new ways which enhance and inspire all aspects of my practice- through poetic, engaging and imaginative multidisciplinary arts experiences, ranging from intimate puppet-performances to interactive, open-air art installations.My work is often developed in an interactive context, either responding to a particular place & environment or in collaboration with other artists. I have devised and facilitated
childrens´ workshops with a wide range of partners, including Airfield, Killruddery Arts, the Mermaid Arts Centre,Kildare & South Dublin Libraries and DLR County Council.In 2009 I received an Arts Council Bursary to further explore my current area of interest: theatre for very young audiences. Key steps were ISLANDS, a multidisciplinary workshop for toddlers and their parents, and CIRCLE AND LINE- presenting work in progress (see projects).
In 2009, I also worked with the HELIUM´s Puppet Portal Project,a new Arts and Health initaitive (see blogs) .- Professional Organisation
