Lines Crossing, (phase two)
Created 2009-03-23 by Kate Wilson
Location: Rural - Co. Sligo
Duration: 2009-03-23 to 2009-05-25
Project Outline
Kate Wilson and Cathal Roche from Tulips and Oysters Cross-Arts are working collaboratively with participants from St. Edward`s National School, Ballytivnan, Sligo, in Lines Crossing. This project is part of Kid`s Own Publishing`s Nature of Sligo Project.
The work looks at forgotten and familiar railways in Co. Sligo. The first phase of this project, facilitated by composer-performer, Cathal Roche, explores `speech` sound, `instrumental` sound and `environmental` sound building up a network of crossing lines all generated by participants through a class survey of local railways. The second phase of this project facilitated by Kate Wilson, explores the relationships between sound and the visual sphere, developing networks from the `instrumental` to the rhythmic and spatial, line, form and colour.
