Smarter Travel Book Project

Project Outline
What factors influence our decisions about transport and how we choose to travel in our local area? What can we discover by choosing new means of getting about as a family unit? How can we creatively communicate new messages and create new opportunities for families to have a richer journeying experience as they move from one space to another?
These are some of the questions we sought to address through the ‘Smarter Travel’ Book project.
Working with the 2 crèches and 2 schools over 4 sessions, Kids’ Own began by exploring how the children were currently travelling to and from school/crèche and other places with their families to provide a starting point for exploring new ways of travelling about.
Workshop sessions involved artwork, as well as discussions about travelling outdoors and planning activities to be carried out with parents between the sessions.
