Ruach Art Project 2011
Created 2011-01-10 by Eva Kelly
Location: CLondalkin - Co. Dublin
Duration: 2011-01-10 to 2011-06-26
Project Outline
The Ruach Art Project 2011 was part of a two yera cycle with the local National School in Clondalkin and Ronanstown Youth Service. The theme explored was Identity. The aim of this project was to support the young people using the visual arts/youth arts as a medium for discussion e.g ’What Identity means to me? What things are important to me? Who I am?’
The first stage of this project involved making impressions of clay tiles with found objects the young people found. This helped as a bases for the next stage in the project which focused on who they are and their own personal identity. We explored this through paper mach mask making. Different words were added to the piece that represented for the young people what personal qualities and strengths are important to them. The project also helped build a bridge between the Youth service and local schools.
