Background
Founded in 2009 Kidding Ensemble has produced two plays for young audiences, Knock Knock Who’s There, a play for children 2-5 years old and in 2010 Creatures From Suitcases a play for children aged 6 to 9 years old. Both played have been toured around Ireland in festival, theatres, community centres and schools. Kidding Ensemble has also facilitated numerous drama and puppet workshops for children from 18months of age.

.Professional Statement
Kidding Ensemble’s mission is to create engaging work for children and adults alike, exploring universal themes in a non realistic way through physicality and theatricality. We wish to develop and strengthen the interaction between circus and theatre. As artists, we have the desire to alter conventional ideas about clowns and to show its relevance in today’s world; we want to experiment in a new way to bring the form to the 21st century. Kidding Ensemble also wishes to create work for young audiences. Children are never patronised but considered with respect as individuals with their own particularities. Being introduced to the performing art at an early age is fundamental for a positive start in cultural and artistic experience and to develop the audience’s role.
