JAN SVENUNGSSON - "THE WRITING ARTIST"

Swedish born visual artist Jan Svenungsson linked in with us online from Berlin to talk about a key area of interest for him: "The Writing Artist"

Jan is interested in how the two alternative forms of expression (visual art and writing) may complement - or clash with - each other. The need to reflect on the relationship between an artist's use of text and the work per se becomes stronger by the day, with the rising demand on textual output in the education system and especially, the artist's PhD.

How do we define ourselves?/ How do we articulate the value of what we do?
